Nintendo DS Lite Hinge and Case Replacement

My daughter has been trying to sell her Nintendo DS Lite for a while now. The DS had a floppy lid due to the hinge cover cracking and relieving tension on the hinge assembly itself. The console itself worked fine though, so I put it up on Craigslist at $40 for her. She said she’d take $20 for it but I thought that was way to little for something that worked fine and should be easy enough to fix. So I lowered it to $30. I had the same one guy offer me $20 at both $40 and $30, but me being the stubborn guy I am said no.

After a while I decided it would be fun to try and repair it so I gave my daughter $30 and bought it for myself. I looked up some replacement cases and hinge kits on Amazon.com and settled on a navy blue set. I picked the set that I did for a few reasons: 1. I liked the color and the original white case was pretty dingy and dirty. 2. It came with the hinge kit. 3. It came with the special triwing screwdriver for the screws holding the base together.
